Prior to co-founding Fernweh, Shekhar was a Partner at McKinsey & Company. Based in its Silicon Valley office, Shekhar focused on driving performance transformations (accelerating revenue growth, expanding profit margin, strengthening balance sheet) for industrial and industrial tech clients. He was also the lead author for several McKinsey publications focused on key industrial sectors, including Value Creation in Industrials, McKinsey on Food Processing and Handling, McKinsey on Flow Control, and McKinsey on Packaging.
Prior to McKinsey, Shekhar was a systems architect at Trilogy Software Inc. in Austin, TX, where he specialized in developing and implementing underwriting and sales force compensation systems for large insurance companies.
Shekhar holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and a Bachelor of Technology from the National Institute of Technology Warangal where he majored in Mechanical Engineering.
